Brian Koerber studied sculpture under Kevin Norton and Ivor Fabok, receiving a Diploma of Fine Arts from the Illawarra Institute of Technology in 1998.
Brian works with a variety of materials including metals and timber and found objects creating brilliant abstract mixed media sculptures.
Brian has been awarded a number of prizes including the Waverly Art Prize for Sculpture in 1997 and 1999 and their open prize in 1999. In 2002 he was the co-winner of the BHP Steel Sculpture Prize. His work was selected for inclusion in Sculpture by the Sea in 1998.
Brian has been exhibiting with Defiance Gallery for a number of years since 1998. He has exhibited in group shows such as the annual 6x6x6 Inch Miniature Sculpture Show and had his first solo show with the gallery in 2004 which was a sell out.
Brian’s work is included in the The Maitland Regional Gallery, Jackson Smith Collection and Waverley Council Collection along with many private collections throughout Australia.
Brian is currently working towards his next exhibition.
