Janik Bouchette
Born France 1965 Janik Bouchette majored in sculpture and obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the National Art School, Sydney. When Janik graduated he was awarded the Julian Beaumont Sculpture Prize, The Defiance Gallery Sculpture prize and the FONAS (Friends of the National Art School) Prize in Sculpture. Janik was selected as a finalist in The University of Western Sydney Sculpture Prize 2005. His work has been chosen for exhibition at Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi 2003, 2004, 2005 and at the Thursday Plantation Sculpture Prize 2004. His work is represented in the Faculty of Architecture, Sydney University Collection, the Jackson Smith Collection and many private collections. Janik's first solo exhibition is currently on show at Defiance Gallery until September 1.
